In the Settings, player can choose reduce motion, difficulty, switch standing/sitting mode, turn on subtitles, and more to make the game more accessible to them.




Secret Walkthrough

* Quest controls are used in the walkthrough.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

1. Welcome to Scottsdale

  1. While the player is being uploaded into Scottsdale, they will be presented with a Survey. Answer all the questions to continue.

  2. Player will meet Cookie. Listen to Cookie talk.

  3. When prompted, press B to "talk".

  4. Follow Cookie to the large golden gate to trigger Marty's welcome message.

  5. Gate will open once the welcome message is done. Proceed to The Plaza.

2. The Plaza

  1. Proceed to Tina's or the Vista Deck. Both sequences need to be completed.

The Plaza - Tinas'

  1. Go down the stairs behind the Plaza fountain.

  1. Walk to the only open table to be seated.

  2. Sequence will start and Tina will talk for a while.

  3. Dating sequence will start and a red "Next" button will appear. Listen to the dates talk or hit next to move on to the next date.

  4. Once all dates are complete, the player can move on to the Vista Deck or the Plaza.

The Plaza - Croquet

  1. Take the stairs leading up under the "Vista Deck" sign.

  2. Walk onto the Croquet field to begin the Croquet minigame.

  3. When prompted by Ester and Lester, pick up the red croquet mallet and use it to hit the red croquet ball into the first wicket.

  4. Cookie will hover above the wickets the player needs to aim for.

  5. To fix wickets that are on hills or that are free-roaming, use the croquet mallet to whack them down.

  6. After a few minutes, the player will be free to leave the croquet field and head to Tinas’ or the Plaza.

The Plaza - Limbo

  1. After the player has visited both Tinas’ and the Vista Deck, they will be called to return to the Plaza center to play limbo.

  2. Once the player reaches the Plaza center, a special announcement will occur. Wait for Chaz to grab the player.

  3. Watch the merge sequence and then put the headset on once the merge is complete.

3. Escape!

  1. Follow Gavin’s instructions and use the steering controls to run, turn, and jump through the rubble.

  2. Once at the final stretch, the player will need to boost to reach the last Tube. To boost, hold the throttle all the way forward and hold the trigger button simultaneously to speed up the mech.

4. The Heap

  1. Listen to Gavin talk.

  2. Gavin will eventually ask for the player's name. Press B/Y to talk.

  3. Gavin will ask for a drink. Grab the drink from the fridge and hand it to him.

  4. Listen to Gavin talk more for a while.

  5. Gavin will ask the player to go downstairs and fix Chaz's battery. Take the lift behind the staircase and go downstairs to the battery room.

  6. Use the batteries on the floor to complete the battery puzzle. Place the batteries into the sockets, then connect them all by turning their connectors.

  7. Butter will appear behind the vent grate in the battery room. Walk up to him and he will talk to the player. 

  8. Once the battery is fixed and Butter is done talking, the player will be directed to go back upstairs. Go back upstairs.

  9. Approach Gavin and he will start the Mech Controls tutorial.

  10. Follow Gavin's directions and use the mech tools to grab/vacuum up objects.

  11. A sentry enemy will appear and Gavin will teach the player how to attack it.

  12. After the tutorial is complete, a Data Eater will appear. Gavin will tell the player to run into the Heap.

  13. Walk in any direction through the Heap.

  14. While navigating the Heap, an object inside the mech’s main cabin will catch fire. Use the fire extinguisher in the kitchen to put out the fire to continue.

  15. Pilot the mech through the Heap to find the entrance to the Spa. Keep walking in any direction until you find a large kiosk labeled “Wellness Warehouse”

  16. Approach the front desk and the attendant will take the player to the Wellness Warehouse.

5. Wellness Warehouse

  1. Complete the rhythm minigame.

  2. Navigate through the sauna, locker rooms, and pool rooms to reach the Fun Zone gate. Enter the Employee Only room on the right.

  3. Open the shaking locker. Dewey will ask the player to bring him ice cream and open the gate to the Fun Zone.

  4. Go to the Fun Zone and approach one of the three ice cream carts.

  5. Pick up an ice cream cone and use it to scoop up the ice cream. 

  6. Deliver the ice cream to Dewey. He will take it from you, then open the locked door behind him.

  7. Go through the opened door and down the hallway. Then go into the destroyed drone supply closet and vacuum up the debris on the floor. 

  8. Gavin will use the debris to create the Scrunch Bud upgrade. Wait a few moments for him to finish crafting it.

  9. To use the Scrunch Bud, use the grabber tool on the left controller and hold down the joystick to aim and release to launch it.

  10. Scrunch across the chasm to continue.

  11. Proceed to the large Rock Climbing room and defeat all the drones in the area.

  12. Once the red barriers fall, proceed to the Hot Yoga room.

  13. Endure the Hot Yoga session.

  14. Once Hot Yoga is complete, Butter will call the player to the Battery room inside the Mech. 

  15. Complete the Butter goo stealing sequence by fetching goo from the Server Room and bringing it to Butter.

  16. Butter will upgrade the vacuum with the time-slowing ability. Vacuum in goo to charge this power, and press the Joystick button to activate.

  17. The doors exiting the Hot Yoga room will now be opened; proceed outside.

  18. Defeat the sentries outside to deactivate the next red barrier.

  19. Navigate through the moving platforms room to the destroyed hallway.

  20. Navigate through the destroyed hallway. Along the way, pick up the spare battery and install it for a health upgrade.

  21. Enter the Soccer Stadium. The Player will have to defeat three waves of drones in order to proceed.

  22. Exit the soccer stadium and navigate to the weight room ahead. Player will find Hernandez in the weight room. Vacuum in and eject items at Hernandez to damage him. After enough hits, he will collapse.

  23. Gavin will direct the player to go downstairs to the Pilotable Headset room and teach the player how to board the mech.

  24. Pilot the headset onto Hernandez to initiate the merge.

6. Hernandez Merge

  1. Watch the Hernandez merge sequence and put the headset on once the merge is complete.

  2. Hernandez's boxing gloves will be added to the mech arms. Press X/A to switch between the Boxing Gloves, Vacuum, and PGR tools.

  3. Use the Boxing Gloves to punch out the large grate in the center of the room. 

  4. Drop down into the hole.

  5. Punch out the crumbling grate. A Data Eater will appear and the chase sequence will start. Player must pilot the mech and punch or boost through walls to run away from the Data Eater.

  6. Once nearing the end of the tunnel, the player must boost through a cracked wall on the right to exit the tunnel.

  7. Navigate through the rubble towards the rift to proceed to the next area.

  8. During this sequence, the mech will pilot itself. Gavin will ask the player to pick up the fire extinguisher. Pick it up.

  9. Listen to Gavin and Hernandez talk. Once done, follow Hernandez to his room.

  10. Listen to Hernandez talk. He will ask the player to pick up the weights and start working out. Weights will make a pop sound/visual effect with each rep.

  11. After doing a rep, the player should go find Gavin on the mech shoulder. Listen to him talk, then he will call a roommate meeting in the main cabin.

  12. Once Gavin is finished talking, the player will be loaded into the next area, the Destroyed Plaza.

  13. Pilot the mech towards the center of the plaza, where the player will find a burning Bush. Follow the burning bush into the Greenhouse.

  14. Go through the open passage in the Greenhouse to follow Bush into the Topiary Gardens.

7. Topiary

  1. Proceed through the tunnel, then take the first left to enter the Topiary maze.

  2. Proceed through the maze, vacuuming up hedges or scrunching over them to reveal new passages.

  3. Once the player reaches the Snail miniboss, vacuum up all his leaves to reveal his weak spot/goo core. Attack and repeat until it is defeated.

  4. Go through the opened gates into the waltz garden and enter the Gazebo to start the Topiary Waltz performance.

  5. Vacuum up or punch away the dancing hedges until Bush appears. She will cover the mech in slime and larvae will breach and disable the mech.

  6. Kill all the larvae inside the mech to re-enable it. There will be a hologram by the Mech Controls indicating which rooms the Larvae are infesting.

  7. Vacuum up or punch away the remaining hedges until the gazebo gates lower and the gates unlock.

  8. Proceed through the open gates and through the treehouse area. 

  9. Enter the Crab Topiary garden.

  10. Using the Pilotable Headset, defeat the sentries in the Crab Topiary garden.

  11. Exit the Crab Garden. Go through the Canyon Trails leading to the Cactus gardens, where the Greenhouse is located.

  12. Enter the Greenhouse and carefully plant a bulb into a flower pot.

  13. Using the nearby watering cans, water your planted bulb. It will grow into a larvae.

  14. Carefully transport the potted larvae back to the Crab Topiary garden. Present the potted larvae to the Crab, and it will unblock the gate.

  15. Go to the gate and press the buttons in the following order to unlock it: 5, 3, 1, 2, 4

  16. Proceed down the hallway. Ester and Lester will be there, who will insist on giving the player a tour of the sculpture garden below.

  17. Ester and Lester will follow the player and comment on nearby sculptures. Walk towards the brightly colored ball mounted sculpture to start the sculpture attack sequence.

  18. Attack the Sculpture eyes and orbitals to damage it. After defeating three, the attack will end and the final walls leading to Bush's Lab will fall.

  19. Proceed into the entrance of Bush's lab.

8. Bush Labs

  1. Enter Bush's lab and navigate through the rooms. 

  2. Proceed all the way down the stairwell to find a control panel.

  3. Use the boxing glove to plug into the socket that says "Unlock Office". Twist until the socket lights up green.

  4. Return upstairs; the locked office is now unlocked. Proceed into the room and down the hole in the floor.

  5. Bush will disable the Mech. Go downstairs and enter the Pilotable Headset to chase Bush.

  6. Player must pilot the Headset through an obstacle course. When holding the steering wheel, use the trigger buttons to shoot down fan grates and obstacles.

  7. Once the player reaches Bush with the headset, the chase will end and the merge sequence will play.

9. Bush Merge

  1. Once the merge is complete, put on the headset to continue.

  2. Mech will gain the Puppet tool on it's right arm. Follow Bush's tutorial instructions to use the Puppet and Larvae to clean rubble.

  3. Once the rubble is clear, pilot the Mech to the lift to enter the next chapter.

10. The Data Eater

  1. Player must defeat the Data Eater boss in this chapter.

  2. Use the Puppet tool to charm Larvae, then direct the Larvae to eat the Data Eater's scales by tagging them with goo.

  3. When the Data Eater howls, the player should move quickly to avoid being eaten.

  4. Once enough of its scales are eaten, the Data Eater will crash. The player must then pilot the mech into the Data Eater's mouth to enter the next chapter.

  5. Mech will autopilot into the next chapter.

11. Destroyed Plaza

  1. The player will find themselves at the Scottsdale Security Desk. Talk to Buglas at the front desk and grab a number ticket.

  2. Buglas will explain that the lifts aren't working and only Madame can fix them. He will unlock the door to the destroyed plaza.

  3. Exit the security desk through the unlocked gate (by the corset moon avatar) and return to the center of the Destroyed plaza.

  4. Go downstairs to Tina and talk to the bouncer. He'll inform the player that they need tamed larvae to enter the new Larvae Arena.

  5. Tame a larvae with the puppet tool and bring it back to the bouncer. He'll reject it, saying the larvae needs to be contained.

  6. Leave Tina's. Bush will begin working on a larvae containment device and will call the player to her room.

  7. Go to Bush's room and she'll ask the player to help power the new Larvae Containment devices.

  8. Go to the battery room and connect the black alligator clamp to the black terminal, and the red alligator clamp to the red terminal.

  9. Go to the lower level of Bush's room and connect the black alligator clamp to the black terminal, and the red alligator clamp to the red terminal.

  10. If done correctly, the worms in Bush's room will begin glowing blue. Go back to Bush.

  11. Bush will ask the player to capture a Larvae for the arena fight.

  12. Find a Larvae and vacuum it in or wait for it to infest the Mech. 

  13. Find and grab the Larvae inside the mech, then take it to Bush's room and place it inside the wired plant pot.

  14. If done correctly, the Larvae's stats will appear on the screen.

  15. In order to find a larvae strong enough to win the Larvae Arena contest, they will need to return to the Greenhouse and go back to the now-destroyed Topiary gardens and search through the larvae there.

  16. Acquire a Larvae with at least BBB stats in the destroyed Topiary gardens.

  17. Return to the Bouncer with the larvae and he will let the player in the Arena.

  18. The Larvae Arena sequence will play. The larvae must win three rounds in the arena in order to proceed.

  19. In the first round, tag the dummies with puppet goo to encourage the Larvae to eat and gain points. Avoid tagging bomb dummies.

  20. In the second round, use the Puppet to sing and distract the larvae.

  21. The third round will not require the player to do anything.

  22. Once the player wins the contest, they'll gain access to the next chapter. If they lose, they'll have to try again.

12. Tuscon Alley

  1. In this area, the player’s progress will be recorded on the new Quest Board in the main cabin. The player can refer to this board to check out their ongoing quests.

  2. Pilot the mech downstairs, through the alley and to Madame's compound. The bouncers will refuse to let the player in.

  3. The player must use the scrunch bud to climb over the roofs, past the bouncer, and into the compound. 

  4. Once inside the compound, the player will be greeted by Madame's gloops-in-waiting, who will guide the players to Madame.

  5. Go through the tube and the player will meet Madame. She will talk with Gavin and Bush.

  6. Madame wants the player to find her Fannypack before she will help them, which is being kept by the King of Phoenix down the lazy river.

  7. Exit the compound and talk to the Oarsman, who is standing by his flamingo boat on the river. 

  8. The Oarsman needs his bow back from the Pawn Shop before he can ferry anyone down the river.

  9. Go to the Pawn Shop. The Broker will inform the player that they need treasure in order to barter for the Oar.

  10. To gain enough treasure to barter for the Oar, the player will need to complete and turn in the rewards of two of the quests below.

  11. Once the player has two items, they will be able to trade for the Oar item.

  12. Bring the Oar back to the Oarsman and he will ferry the player to the next chapter.

Museum Quest:

  1. Talk to the crying Museum director by the Pawn shop to begin the quest. He will ask the player to kill all the Larvae in his museum.

  2. Go to the Scottsdale Museum in the Plaza. Once inside, the player must fight off and kill two waves of Larvae and Sentries.

  3. Once all enemies are defeated, the Director will give the player the Can of Coins item. Take this back to the Pawn Shop.

Boa Quest:

  1. Talk to Boa, who is in an alleyway near the Merge Hotel. She will ask the player to find their friend Melba near the Spawning Gazebo (where the player first entered Scottsdale)

  2. Pilot the Mech back to the Plaza and upstairs to the Gazebo. Using Larvae, search through the rubble for Melba's remains behind the Gazebo.

  3. Once found, vacuum up Melba's remains and return to Boa.

  4. Boa will give the Feather item reward. Take this back to the Pawn Shop.

Speedo Quest:

  1. Talk to Speedopizzini, a pizza avatar across the river from the Kompound. He will ask the player to get him some clothes from the Palladium.

  2. PIlot the Mech back to the Plaza and back to the Palladium. Using Larvae, clear the rubble and fight off enemies to enter.

  3. Once inside, pick up the Speedo clothing item and take it back to Speedopizzini.

  4. He will give the Topping item reward. Take this back to the Pawn Shop.

Merge Hotel Quest:

  1. The Merge Hotel can be entered through the open doors facing the river, near the alley leading to Boa. 

  2. Enter the Merge Hotel and wait for Florentine to finish talking to Toni. 

  3. She will then put a “Help Wanted” sign on the desk. Pick it up using the grabber.

  4. Florentine will interview Chaz. When prompted, pick up the telephone on the desk.

  5. Florentine will hire Chaz and ask the player to man the front desk. Wait for the phone to ring, then answer it when it does.

  6. Some of the Merge Hotel’s guests will ask Chaz for help. Proceed into the elevator by the desk. 

  7. The elevator will deliver Chaz to the hotel room, where you’ll meet Alligator and Wine. Enter, then follow Bush’s instructions to merge the guests:

    a. First, connect the guests together using the merge cable by the machine. The indicators by the machine will turn green when the guests are connected correctly.

    b. Second, prime the machine by hitting the large red button several times using the punching gloves.

    c. Thirdly, flip the switch to initiate the merge.

  8. Once finished, return to the elevator and go back to the lobby.

  9. The phone will ring again after a few moments. Answer it, then proceed into the elevator.

  10. The elevator will take Chaz to the Conference Room. Pilot the mech to the front of the room, where you’ll be asked to merge Fishbowl and Building (who is projected on the projector screen).

    a. Connect Fishbowl and Building by sticking the connectors to the fishbowl and projector screen. 

    b. Prime the machine by hitting the large red button several times using the punching gloves.

    c. Look at the lightbulb indicator to the right of the machine. When it turns green, flip the switch. 

  11. Once complete, return to the elevator and back to the lobby.

  12. In the lobby, you’ll see Eyeball and Popcorn. Approach them and they will also ask for help with merging.

  13. Return to the elevator and it will take Chaz to the Motel Room.

  14. Shortly after reaching the Motel Room, Butter will appear and suggest tampering with the merge to gain extra Goo. The player can ignore him and merge Eyeball and Popcorn correctly, or listen to Butter and kill them for extra Goo.

    a. Again, connect Eyeball and Popcorn using the merge cable.

    b. Prime the machine by hitting the large red button several times using the punching gloves.

    c. Flip the switch to initiate the merge.

    d. If the player decides to listen to Butter, they will need to unplug the Merge Machine shortly after flipping the switch.

  15. Once complete, return to the elevator and back to the lobby.

  16. Florentine will be waiting in the lobby. She will ask Chaz to help her in the Boiler Room.

  17. Return to the Elevator and proceed to the Boiler Room with Florentine.

  18. Pilot Chaz to the large furnace at the end of the walkway.

  19. Florentine will ask Chaz to throw items from the conveyor belt into the furnace.

  20. Once Florentine is done talking, return with her to the elevator and back to the lobby.

  21. Florentine will then reward the player with the Backpack item. Take this item to the Pawn Shop.

13. Phoenix, Caveizona

  1. The player will find themselves in the Cult of Phoenix's cave. Walk towards the cult and their leader will greet the player.

  2. The cult leader asks the player to bring them Dewey, who is hiding in the ruins of the Wellness Warehouse.

  3. The cult will open a path to the Heap. Enter the Heap and begin walking in any direction.

  4. A large kiosk labeled “Wellness Warehouse” will appear as the player walks through the Heap.

  5. Approach the front desk and the attendant will take the player to the Wellness Warehouse.

14. Dewey Fetch

  1. The player will enter the ruins of the Wellness Warehouse. Climb upwards through the ruins, Dewey is at the top.

  2. Once at the top, the player will need to fight off a large number of enemies, then clear the rubble surrounding Dewey.

  3. Once the way is clear, use the Pilotable Headset to merge with Dewey.

  4. A merge sequence will play. Put on the headset to continue once complete.

  5. The player will load back at the Cave and Dewey will be ejected for the Fannypack. Leave the cave by climbing the rubble and heading towards the rift.

15. Madame Merge

  1. Player will be returned to Madame's compound. Go through the tube and talk to Madame.

  2. Use the Pilotable Headset again to merge with Madame.

  3. A merge sequence will play. Put on the headset to continue once complete.

  4. Pilot the mech to the tube ahead to return to the Security desk.

  5. Once there, proceed through the turnstiles and use the upgraded boxing gloves to plug in and charge the lifts (charge by holding Joystick down)

  6. Enter any lift to proceed to the next chapter.

16. The Climb

  1. Using the scrunch bud, climb upwards towards the next tube.

  2. The mech will break down. After the player listens to Hernandez, Bush/Madame, and Gavin talk, the mech will be repaired and the player can continue to climb.

  3. Go through the first tube. The player will be deposited in the windmill area. Continue to climb upwards towards the next tube.

  4. Go through the next tube. The player will be deposited in the Croquet Fields. Butter will ask the player to meet him in the Battery Room.

  5. Meet Butter in the Battery room and watch the cutscene until complete. The player can then return to climbing.

  6. Continue climbing upwards through the Croquet Fields towards the next tube.

  7. Go through the next tube. The player will be deposited in a scene with disappearing items/platforms.

  8. Climb upwards towards the top.

  9. Enter the next tube. The player will be deposited in the final stage, the Upper Offices. Climb towards the building at the top - the Board Room.

  10. After a short sequence with Fern, the player will enter the Board Room. A cutscene will begin to play.

  11. After the Marty recording finishes playing, Butter will tell the player to meet him in the Pilotable Headset.

  12. Enter and start the Headset and Boost to enter the next chapter.

17. Lost in the Trench

  1. Engage the headset and Butter will start talking. Eventually he will enable the Radar.

  2. Visit each point of interest to find and upload Madame and Hernandez.

  3. To Upload Madame and Hernandez, carefully approach them with the headset, and line up the headset until all indicators are green. The headset will scan them in automatically.

  4. Once the player finds Bush, a cutscene will play automatically leading to the next chapter.

18. Board Prison

  1. The player will wake up in a prison cell.

  2. After a short while, Butter will crawl in through a vent in the wall and give the player a headset. Put on the headset.

  3. The player will need to help Butter crawl through the vents. Use the trigger buttons to grab the floor and pull Butter forward through the vents.

  4. Go through the vents. At the end, Butter will be caught and the player will be ejected from the headset.

  5. After waiting a few more moments, Butter will break through the player's cell wall and free them using the Pilotable Headset.

19. The Bottom Line

  1. Use the pilotable Headset to return to the Chaz mech. In this chapter, the player will need to fight the Board's mech, the Bottom Line. 

  2. The mech weapons are offline in the first phase, so the player will need to run and hide from the Bottom Line.

  3. Once Hernandez and Madame return and the mech weapons are back online, the second fighting phase will begin. 

  4. Goo piles will begin to form throughout the arena, and the player will need to bait the Bottom Line into hitting these goo piles with its croquet mallet attack.

  5. If the Bottom Line hits a goo pile successfully, it will be stunned for a short while. The player will need to climb onto the Bottom Line and destroy the Goo Canisters on its back.

  6. Repeat this two more times until all three Goo Canisters are destroyed. The mech will be in a weakened state.

  7. Marty will direct the player to climb onto the Bottom Line's back again.

  8. Using the charged glove (hold down joystick), plug into the socket on the Bottom Line's head.

  9. A hatch will open on the Bottom Line's head. Drop down into the hatch. 

  10. Using a charged glove, plug into the socket on the wall/control panel to defeat the Bottom Line.

20. Maine

  1. The ending sequences will play automatically.

Flashbacks: Butter Headsets

  1. The Butter Headsets are sequences that are unlocked as the player collects Goo throughout the game. 

  2. To unlock Butter headsets, the player must first complete the Vacuum Grinder tutorial, which can be started anytime mid-Wellness Warehouse chapter (after Hot Yoga) and onwards. Gavin will start this tutorial automatically when the player walks into the mech’s Server Room while he’s not busy.

  3. Once the tutorial is complete, the headset meter on the mech’s HUD will fill up when the player vacuums up goo. Filling up the meter unlocks one headset.

Butter Headset 1

  1. Put on the headset and watch the sequence. It will end automatically.

Butter Headset 2

  1. Put on the headset. While inside, pick up the headset in the fridge and put it on.

  2. Watch the full memory in the next headset. Once complete, Butter will ask the player to try on the other headsets throughout the room.

  3. After the player goes through a few headsets, they will be ejected automatically.

Butter Headset 3

  1. Put on the headset. While inside, pick up the headset in the fridge and put it on.

  2. Keep trying on headsets until the player finds the WYNGZ night headset memory.

  3. Watch the full WYNGZ night memory. Once complete, the player will be ejected automatically.

The Battery Room

Throughout the game, the player can find spare batteries hidden in certain levels. Installing extra batteries into Chaz correctly will upgrade the mech with additional shields.

Batteries can be found in the following locations:

  1. Wellness Warehouse: In the destroyed hallway before the Soccer Stadium.

2. Hernandez Merge: At the end of the tunnel near where the player breaks out.

3. Topiary: At the top of some tall cacti in the Jumbo Cactus Garden hike area.

4. The Data Eater: on a rock at the very bottom of the level.

5. Destroyed Plaza: At the top of some scattered rubble near the Security Desk's exit.

6. Destroyed Topiary area (accessible via the Greenhouse in the Destroyed Plaza): Atop the rubble at the far end of the level.

7. Find Dewey: At the center of the large dome-shaped wreckage.

See below for examples of valid battery connections. Note that for some configurations, batteries will need to be inserted upside-down and/or the battery cable will need to be used.
